| [OT] I think I might be a redneck...
Not exactly an Atlanta comment, more of a "South" comment:
So I'm watching "Pig Bomb" on the History Channel. It's the story about the population explosion of feral pigs in America, particularly the south. They interviewed a hunter from south Georgia, while having a particularly heavy drawl, he still seemed fairly understandable, at least I had no problem understanding what he said. The History Channel felt it necessary to apply subtitles as if they were from Azerbaijan or somewhere.
Does the fact that I understood what they said make me a redneck? I do drive a truck & own guns... Uh-oh...
Maybe I could get a job as a translator.

But, yeah, I've had someone call me a redneck in the last few weeks and I thought to myself, really? I grew up in the north. Then I remembered: People think I'm crazy cause I live in Carrollton 45 min from Atlanta (mortgage is $600 a month for a house that would be >$1800 in Atl), own guns & enjoy shooting target (not into hunting though, I'm too impatient), would love to drive a f350 (fire truck red, raised, w/ the full 4 doors) if it didn't burn through so much gas, so I guess the answer is yes. Although, thank goodness I don't do chewing tobacco.
On the other hand, Maybe we're just sympathizers? |
