For Dks, the difference is about 0.1% crit between the two, but it allows the socketing of an extra +20 str gem. Also, I say find a piece of gear with a red socket and a blue/yellow socket that gives a socket bonus of +6 str or more. Socket a +20 str in the red and the nightmare tear in the other one. This actually nets you more str then just throwing the nightmare tear anywhere. For blood and unholy more str = more ap = more disease damage = more weapon damage. IIRC, A lot of Unholy Dks take imp unholy pres. and stay in unholy. The fast rune refresh times allows for more BS/SS spamming while all three diseases are up. It is recommended to wait until 4pc t9 to go unholy though, as blood is still superior until then.

I feel like I should be doing more DPS. I can't seem to win a damn gear roll, but we just switched to an EPGP system and I'm priority atm 
Anyway, I usually do between 3.8k and 4.5k, but feel like I'm so inconsistent. The spec / rotation I'm using is Archivis' old 'diseaseless blood' spec (if I remember correctly). Should I be doing anything differently?

Yes. Diseaseless blood went the way of D&D's fear mechanic. Diseased blood nets higher dps. 51/0/20 is the preferred blood spec. Glyph these three majors: DRW, Death Strike, Glyph Of Disease. Rotation can go one of two ways.
First

HSx4 DS Rp dump refresh diseases with pestilience (love that glyph of disease) and repeat the second line
Second
IT PS HSx2 DS RP
HSx4 DS RP dump pestilince to refresh diseases (repeat second line)
The thing about blood dps is that your rotation has to be spot on. If you lose your rotation (i.e. let diseases fall off) you suffer about a 25% dps loss over time.
Btw, looking at your gear, your meta gem isn't active. You have all red gems and one yellow. The meta gems requires one of each type (red/yellow/blue) Change out one of you +20 str gems with a nightmare tear. You are also 10 points below the hit cap (263). A good portion of your dps is being lost to this.
Spec'ing is off. I wish I could show you how but let me see if this site works for you. I will also add good glyph choices.

This is the current preferred blood spec. You don't need points in frost and Necrosis is a must to buff your white damage attacks. Also, with glyph of disease 2/2 epidemic isn't need as if you use either one of the rotation I listed above, you will have 2-3 seconds left on your diseases when pestilience comes up. Pest, diseases refresh resume second line of rotation.
If you have the emblems (35 triumph) pick up the ring from the vendor. That will give you the hit you need so you can socket the +hit gem in your boots with +20 str gem and enchant your gloves with 44 ap. These things will net your biggest damage increases as of late.
Lastly, whether you are a clicker or not, get an addon called NeedtoKnow. You can set it up to track buffs and debuffs. It is easy to figure out so I will just tell you what to track.
Set two bars over/under (personal pref) where your targets nameplate pops up. Set them to track debuffs on the target. Now have one track Blood Plague and the other Frost Fever.
Now set 4 bars where ever you are going to see them easily. Have them all track buffs on you. Set the bars to track each of these buffs: Grim Toll, Unholy Strength(FC's proc), Unholy Force(Sigil Proc), and Rising Fury(the name of VotF on use buff. The addon also tracks stacks so you will be able to see when it reaches its max stacks).
Now, go back into the addons config and lock the bars. Now you can track your diseases and your procs, allowing you to know when you will be pushing your max dps. My suggestion is that when you see grim Toll, Unholy Str, and Unholy Force all proc at once, pop all your CD's (Hysteria, DRW, and if horde orc racial, blood fury). You can make an all in one macro that looks something like this:

/use Slot 12 (use trinket in the 1st trinket slot, replace with slot 13 if it is in the second one)
/cast Dancing Rune Weapon
Then blow through all your runes, using as many HS and DS as you can. When all your runes are on CD, dump RP, then use Empowered Rune Weapon. This brings them all back up, so refresh your diseases with pest, then Hsx4 DS rp dump. This will give you huge numbers. Also, be looking for DRW and hysteria to come off CD. Pop then again when/if they do (this is for long duration fights, like anub). I guarantee you will see at least a 1-1.5k dps increase.

| Rofl. I am sure it will work. Honestly getting that ring from triumph badges will really set it off. I will give you a little leeway to play with stats because it will actually put you a little over the hit cap. Hint on which ring to replace: The one that doesn't have strength on it (without socketing).

Your blood tree is fine for specs. Get rid of that one silly point in frost and move it to Unholy.
Take that 1 point in frost, yank out those 3 points in Outbreak (garbage) and take 1 point out of Epidemic (1/2 is fine), and put those 5 points total into Necrosis.
You should see a gain from that.

Actually, scratch getting the ring upgrade. Your best upgrade after further evaluation of your gear is to replace your gloves. Same emblem cost but better benefit. Get the ilvl 232 (unless you have 50 emblems and a trophy, then get the 245 ones) t9 gloves. The hit on them will hit cap you and you can get rid of your +hit gem/enchant and go str/ap. My bad. Hope you get this before you go home.

But from what I can see from the DK's on this forum, none use this, so most DPS would be done in a Blood Presence. However, in saying that, there are some situations where switching to Unholy Presence is better, and there are some fights where I even go into Frost Presence.
Take ToC10/25 for example...
-Gormok - Blood
-Jormungars - Blood
-Icehowl Blood until he knocks you back with crash, and just before he does, switch to Unholy Presence allowing you to run up to him faster and get in as much DPS as possible while he has that debuff, then switch back to Blood, rinse & repeat.
-Lord Jaraxxus - Blood
-Faction Champs - Frost until most the physical damage dealers are dead, then Blood or Unholy, depending on the group making, existance of slows, etc.
-Twins - Blood
-Anub - Blood until P2 then Unholy (For increased move speed to burn down those adds) and back to Blood again for P3.
But generally, in tank and spank situations, most builds accept Blood Presence as the highest DPS output. |

| For an unholy/frost DW Dk, Unholy presence is the way to go. The reason for Unholy Dks is to allow for maximum RP generation in a short time, allowing for the use of Death Coil (since this spec tends to have a lot down time between refreshes). This also allows for you to get the max benefit from Necrosis (for 2h spec). This is also applies to Frost DW. Building up RP fast also allows you to spam FS.
@Sprakk, unless you are kiting going frost presence during FC isn't advisible, imo. The reason I say this is that being in frost presence really gimps your burst damage (which is what is required by FC). If it is working for you, then by all means keep doing what you are doing. During Anub, for ToGC, I would say that any spec (unless tank) going into unholy presence would be beneficial, especially for blood dks. As blood, you already self heal a lot just through damage. Being in Blood Presence only increases this. This can be bad as I know for myself, I stay at a constant 75% hp when dpsing this fight. Being in unholy presence would gimp your self healing some, which means anub heals for less. Also, it has been proven that their is only a marginal, dps difference between unholy/blood presence. However, the difference is large enough that at the top end of raiding, a blood dk wants to be in blood presence.

I use Imp Unholy presence for my Unholy dps build.
It's not too shabby either, considering my crap gear: 6700dps on Koralon and my 232 weapon doesn't even have strength on it.
