said by dslfanboy :It has 2t3r from my research on Ralink's site. I'll take the MIPS24KEc 384MHz processor and 2t3r over the MIPS4KEc 266MHz and 2t3r. Not to mention the reduced heat output from the combined chip although the ver. 1000 runs very cool. 500MHz Marvel blows both NPU alway just too bad there wasn't support for that NPU with WPU. I still fine with RT2880 NPU and it's RT2881 WPU. It has a 32-bit pipe (PCI) bus type. The one you like doesn't say what the pipe in bits is just say Rbus 128MHz still have you see the reviews on this RT3052 wasn't that great. I can't believe Belkin N+ V2 is using this NPU. I know that Belkin N 300 is using it. Are you sure that Belkin N+ V2 is using RT3052? |

Just plug it in and use it. No need to spend hours of tweaking settings or testing firmwares. |

You should join the dark side and get your self a netgear router as well. People are working bit by bit to have a working DD-WRT firmware for it as we speak. |

1 edit | How much did you pay for it? I don't know if the price of it comes down more I might consider it, but I did almost defect myself by getting the additional 3 wireless N routers one was Netgear and yes install DD-WRT what a nightmare! Since I now have the Belkin N+ for a couples of months now, everything is works! Got the DIR-655 stable again but only as AP in N mode only. I dare not try to use it as a main router nor use it's gig ports to the max otherwise all the blocks will fall down as they say.
I just may hold out till 2010 to see what else starts to appear? Enjoy your new router good thing you never did go after the DIR-685 ouch! |

| I saw DIR685 at my local Microcenter the other day for $250. Too much money for all the bling it comes with that ill never use and half ass support from Dlink.
I paid $180 including tax at local BestBuy, and sold my DIR 655 on line for $60. So not a bad turn around.
No more messing around with antennas, thank god.
But the factory GUI has very few options on 3700 router, about half of what 655 router does.

The network couldn't get better than this. N working so well DIR-655 giving me 120-150mbps very quick in AP mode though. So if I add them all up I have
200 + 200 + 276 + 266 = 942MHz NPU 16 + 16 + 16 + 32 = 80MB of RAM
Adding the AP Main Wireless N Router Belkin N+ Adding the AP Wireless N Router Dlink DIR-655 Adding the AP Wireless G Router Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 Adding the AP Wireless G Router Buffalo WHR-HP-G54
942MHz NPU 80MB of RAM |

| reply to Fireblade said by Fireblade :After months of using a half-assed 655 with no word on any upcoming fixes, I finally sold it for $90 CAD and purchased a WNDR3700 for $130. I could not be anymore happy, the WNDR3700 is a monster, a complete beast. Everything is working now, everything is seamless, I will not pay D-Link for their fuck ups. Netgear WNDR3700, highly recommended. Next time D-Link should think twice before locking people into broken firmwares. I just dumped the DIR-655 today for the WNDR3700. |

| Well I'll past on this one the guy on the Cnet was so conviced the performance of the Belkin N+ was better than DIR-655. He was right on the mark on that one.
2.4GHz speeds compared from the Belkin N+ beats the WNDR3700
Boy you think with so much money for this newer router you think the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless would be stronger but it's not. So best to disable the wireless and used it a wired router with the CPU and RAM so strong that's where I see it this one at. Time will only tell..
Video and review and charts here.. The DIR-825 and Belkin N+ in wireless are just a tad under 2% from each other still stronger than the rest. That's should be very important to everyone.

Well those who had spend good money on this router good luck with it. I'll stick with Belkin N+ very quick and handles my network media boxes very well. |

1 edit | Well true these router don't hold-up so well after so many pounding. I gave my DIR-655 2-3 years. Anyway looks like Belkin has changed the chipset in Belkin N+ so instead of 266MHz it's now 533MHz (actual 480MHz 32KB Instruction / 32KB Data) NPU and 256MB DDR2 677MHz of RAM with 8MB for Flash. They have dropped Ralink for Broadcom XLR2. |

The performance charts on smallnetbuilder have the WNDR3700 beating the DIR-825 and Belkin N+ in just about every benchmark -- they're much more credible. In regards to the 825, at least you won't have the router going down every 2-3 days. -- I love fish sticks. I love putting fish sticks in my mouth. |

3 edits | reply to Fireblade The 5Ghz on the wndr3700 works quiet well on my end. 3 floors and 40 feet away from a Client-Bridge that i have set up.
With only 30% signal strength, i get 5.5MB/s moving files from one pc to another. At 90% - 100% signal strength, i get 14MB/s transfer rate.
At 2.4Ghz, i get 7.5MB/s file transfer speed, at 50% signal strength.
The only three issues with this router that need improvement:
1. It takes a long time for settings to apply. 2. Power plug pops out when you barely touch it. I had to put a a bit of hot glue to keep it in place. 3. Takes a while for it to boot. |

Have you ran this on the browser also do you have the plugin called Cache Status installed for Firefox. If you done all of these things and both PCs are doing then the router doesn't response so fast as it should for it's GUI. I only seen this a older Dlink did the same thing.
