Can someone on a $109 'Better' plan with 25/15 and Extreme and Essentials itemize for me the final costs for each service after the bundle is applied?

For example, I am on a TP, 20/5 plan now and below is a shot of my bill that shows what I pay for each service in the bundle after the prices are reduced to the bundle price.

It is getting close to time to re-up, but I am willing to do now. I am interested in what the 25/15 breaks out at on the bill in the section shown above on page one of your bill. My employer covers my internet cost, and this is the line that I reference on my expense report. I would like to know if the $10 increase in cost is applied to TV/Phone/Internet or just one service.

My story:

My Flex package (HD Extreme, 20/5 Internet @ $79.99) is ending this month so I called today and eventually got transferred to retention (which is 800-849-4480). The guy was pretty firm that he could do nothing to help me out and I would have to jump to the $95 double-play package which is HD Extreme and 25/15. I tried to convey that I don't need all that internet speed but HD is important, but it fell on deaf ears. At first he wouldn't offer me anything, and then after a brief hold said he could knock $5 off. I tried to negotiate another $5 off so that my increase would be only $5 but the guy refused and said it couldn't be done. He reasoning was that since I don't have a big package (damn, how did he know?) that he couldn't give me better discounts. I guess it makes some sense that the discount amount is somewhat proportional to the amount you are spending.

So, I'm debating on whether to take the $10 increase for (unneeded) faster internet, or just walk away. Maybe when I call to cancel for real, they'll find some magical discount they can apply.

Update...

I called back today after a few weeks ago being told a $5 discount was all I could get off the new $95 bundle.

Today I got a nice lady that was able to provide a little bit more. I did have to bump my $79.99 Extreme HD bundle to the newer $94.99 DP. However she gave me the $5 I was originally told, plus credited me for one SD STB for 12 months ($4.99) and threw in HBO movie pack for 3 months. So in all I am happy to only have a net $5 increase. My advice...keep calling until you get someone nice.

Another interesting note I was not aware of: My plan actually ended a few days ago and I was under the impression that I would either be billed my old DP amount or get automatically bumped to the new DP. Not so. Since the bundles are contract only, this next month I was being charged individually $58 for HDTV, and $70 for internet - about $50 more than last month! I agree that it was very nice of Verizon. I was surprised when the agent offered to refund the total amount. I got the $119.99 triple play with 25/15 and kept my $30 movie bundle. I ask her for a discount at least equal to the $5 per month for the first year, offered online. She offered me $10 per month for the first year, so it takes me back to what I am paying now with increased wireless speed. The second year I know I will not pay any more than $119.99 and maybe can negotiate another discount at that time.

I went to Fios website entered my address. Selected the option to end current service and start new service. It is probably set up this way for a local move. I entered my current address as my new address. Now I had my choice of all the new customer offers. I picked the package with free HBO for a year plus $5 off and picked an installation date even though an install was not required.

Seriously though, I'm with you, except VZ ain't budging on their bundle prices, except for the added discounts. That leaves them with a price increase in place at the end of the 1-year with discounts, because you're told up front, the discount is good for one year, the bundle price guarantee is good for two. You're forced to renegotiate after 1 year, or expect a price increase.

Depends on who you call and how much they can tell you're drooling. The good reps can tell when you've been offered your price point. I'd have liked to see gdeep's post two weeks ago. All I could pull out was $10 discount on a triple play, but then again, the rep knew that was my price point. I called 888-881-8161... but, it took 3 transfers to get to (what I think was) retention. Once there, I told them I was going back to Comcast when my contract was up. They asked why and I told them because of the price increase and having to pay for the DVR. The agreed to lock my price for 2 years (but still only need to agree to a 1 year contract), including the free DVR. They offered HBO/Max for a year free instead, but I took the free DVR :)

Right, and that $85 seems way overpriced to me. Especially since I was paying $79 for Extreme and 20/5, than that package went up to $84.99, and now it went to $95 (but with the bump to 25/15).

The bandwidth does not cost VZ anything, so when they act like the increase in speed is worth another $10 or $15 I don't buy it.

Give customers options to have slower speeds like 10/2, 15/2, 15/5, 20/5, etc. and offer lower priced double plays.

The fact that Essentials TV and 15/5 (or 20/5) is $85.....and Extreme TV with 25/15 is only $10 more just shows that the lower package is not being priced realistically based on what services are offered.

He looked at my account and told me that my price won't go up as I'm grand fathered in with 79.99 flex bundle.

He was able to give me 5 bucks off my HD Dvr box and did assure that I will continue on getting the bundle for 79.99 even though my contract is ending this month. He said I shouldn't even upgrade as I will be paying 15 dollars more a month to sign up for new contact for 94.99 DP.

Just an inside scoop for all TP customers. He did mention that all TP can get 15 dollars off a month if they ask for it. I found out the discount is $5, but it can be applied twice. When you call again, ask for two $5 discounts. Suggest that one can be applied to TV, and the other can be applied to internet. The CSR does not have a $10 discount item on their order screen, or so I'm told. So the guy was literally right "it can't be done."

It's funny. The internet was important to me, who cares about HD Extreme. Of course I bit for the triple play. The FIOS bundle price for $95 is easily a better deal than what comcast offered me.
$95 isn't bad indeed but at least out here in Seattle area, Comcast is putting together some nice bundle deals. Their analog reclamation project is going to be done by end of year so I will have access to 100+ HD channels that include at least 6 that I might use that I don't' have on FIOS (including CBUT SD/HD which FIOS does not have). The PQ was never horrible with Comcast like some of you guys have outside of Seattle Puget Sound area. The internet speed they are offering is 16/2 which is fine for me and my d/l needs and probably for most folks.

With FIOS selling to Frontier and uncertainty in the future along with my being recently laid off, I have to entertain the possibility of switching from FIOS. :( Comcast rep is able to give me 12 months of full HD TV package+ the 16/2 above plus 1 HD DVR, 1 HD STB and 3 free digital adapters for ~$85/mo (plus ~ $6 taxes I believe) if I switch when my contact is up by December. Compare that to FIOS cost of $95/mo + $16 HD DVR+ $10 HD STB + $4-$6 per adapter and you get a nice yearly savings and not a killer reduction in quality/services. Anyway...I don't WANT to leave FIOS (I love it) but we'll see what happens in the next 2-6 months...

The rep was able to match the Comcast offer and give me the DVR free for a year. That lowered my bill by $15.99/month (plus tax). She then told me that I could save another $6.99/month (plus tax) by getting rid of my phone inside wire maintenance. That was a no brainer - I dropped that.

So assuming that my bill does not get screwed up, I'll be saving almost $25.00/month. That makes the Extreme HD + SHO + Movies + Freedom Essentials Phone + 20/5 internet cost about $140/month.

Moral... it's worth the time and effort :)

I do not like the way VZ is forcing people into ONE package. They need to offer a lower priced alternative.
