Yet there are people who go out in the sun every day and never get cancer so not everyone mutates. The problem with the OP's statement was that it was a blanket statement "radiation causes mutations", not "radiation can cause mutations".
Technically everyone has had a mutation at some point in their life. It's not caused by radiation, but simply by the fact that cell replication is always 100% perfect. Most mutations are benign (such as hair color), some are beneficial (such as lower risk of heart disease) and some are harmful (cancer). --

bicker join:2007-05-10 Burlington, MA | If this whole thread blew up because some people were upset that the original assertion was missing the word "can", then that says an awful lot (and not terribly good things) about those people. They could have just said "Yes, it can cause mutation, but it doesn't always cause mutation."
However, I think you're wrong about that: I got the impression that they were trying to assert that the farmer's concerns were utterly without merit. |

They pretty much are without merit as the amount of radiation put off by wi-fi is simply dwarfed by the amount of natural sources of radiation there are. Hence my comment about growing plants without sunlight.
There are a number of other physics and biological reasons why, the chance of mutations from wi-fi radiation is virtually non-existent (power level, distance, etc). Rather than list what's already been said, I'll simply point to this link which explains things fairly well. --
