The when it checks for GPS again, it will get no signal and you could miss many call before you realize it deactivated.

Their GPS lock is stupid and as soon as I or someone else gets their hands on one we will find a way around it. If I could get around the GPS lock and be able to take this on international travel I would be very happy.

There are companies that make devices that can spoof gps right now, but they sell them at a premium price. All we need is a cheap device that will either broadcast a static gps signal to trick the device, bypassing its internal rs232 (if that is what is uses) gps device with cheap gps simulator software running on a laptop, hack the software on the device. It will be done.

GPS lock is not stupid. It ensures you have E911 coverage and are using the device in places where AT&T is licensed to transmit a 3G signal.

Just fyi the gps is not the only thing that att uses to make sure you are in their area.
