For Sale/Trade at Wildblue.cc
WB equipment is also sold on Ebay.
You should indicate the polarization of your TRIA because they are not interchangeable.
If your satellite is Anik-F2 (beams 1 to 45), your TRIA uses left handed circular polarization.
If your satellite is Wildblue-1 (beams 101 to 136), then your TRIA uses right handed circular polarization.
The TRIA is the electronics mounted to the boom on the dish. The rest of the equipment is interchangeable between the satellites. -- Value Pack, beam 31, Riverside gateway |

| reply to grohgreg said by grohgreg :... note their use of the phrase " single billing account". Both Wildblue and I are interpreting those provisions more broadly than you. Wildblue was demanding that delta_queen get a new account and a new 2 year service commitment to move her equipment to a new location. The legalese means that customers are not allowed to move their equipment to a new location without obeying whatever rules Wildblue fabricates. |

even when they try to cut a deal with me during decomissioning, they still were after that additional 2 year contract. I would have remained a customer were it not for that. |

Technically incorrect, I can change the polarization to match the satellite within a matter of minutes. That said, what you say is true from a practical standpoint - in that most folks don't have any business making that change by themselves. For that group, it's best to buy one that's pre-configured.

I would have remained a customer were it not for that. I wonder if they have more than one call center, or if some employees go off the reservation with their interpretation of "the rules". This silly requirement prompted me motivated to call Wildblue myself, and give them a scenario similar to yours. I did not get the same story as I'm hearing from you and Spice.

| reply to delta_queen It would be quite foolish to use satellite internet when DSL (or better) is available.
Did you check if DSL was in your area before you signed up for WB?
At any rate, MAKE SURE that DSL is really available before canceling WB. Make them come out and check to be sure. |
