Re: qwest... Surprisingly, there are a lot of folks around here (college students) sticking with the cheaper Qwest 3/5/7 Mbit ADSL service, even though it's quite crappy.
That said, all power users use Comcast, no questions.
OTOH is Qwest introduced 12/5 VDSL2 I'd be all over that. | | tubbynetreminds me of the danse russePremium,MVM join:2008-01-16 Chandler, AZ | said by iansltx:Surprisingly, there are a lot of folks around here (college students) sticking with the cheaper Qwest 3/5/7 Mbit ADSL service, even though it's quite crappy. which is interesting, because when i price qwest in phoenix, its always less of a value for me because i (a) don't want a landline - i have voip and (b) i don't want a contract to fulfill.
when you factor in non-contracted, dry-loop 1.5 meg service, i'm looking at a price of nearly $45/month, for 1.5meg dsl! thats the cost for the preferred tier from cox, provisioned at 10/768k. no comparison.

as long as it was priced right without a contract or phone line

| Here Qwest is quite competitive price-wise. $40 dry-line for 1.5, $46 for 3/5/7.
Okay, that isn't terribly competitive, but it's cheaper than $55 for Comcast.
Qwest also has a $30 for 1.5M and a $35 for 3/5/7 promo going on right now, no phone line needed. Comcast would be $35 for 1M, though they also have a promotion where 12M is $20 with TV, not sure how much without. | |
