At some point, Yes! how far along that is who knows. Comcast is just currently working contacting customers of modems who are only DOCSIS 1.0 compliant. Next step will be to phase out DOCSIS 1.1 modems. Modems that are 2.0 are going to be fine for a while. There are way too many 2.0 EMTA's in the field to swap out.
