 smc2804wbrp-g V1 firmware upgrade fails..

Downloaded the latest firmware v2.08. PC connected to one of the LAN port via cable.
Current firmware -
Runtime Code Version: v1.00 (Oct 14 2003 18:20:25)
Boot Code Version: V1.3
From WEB interface, I logon and from tools option. I started firmware upgrade utility. Upgrade started, I see the router light went off, and then all LED turned off and got error message -
"Connection Interrupted" "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."..
I saw all the LED turned off like it reset itself. In short I can not upgrade the firmware because router gets a first command to reset itself while upgrade process starts. Is there any hidden trick or am i doing anything wrong?
