I have a Westell G90 6100 modem and a D-Link Dir 655 Router. I would like to use my modem in bridge mode but I can`t configuration that. Somebody can help me?
We have tried to resolve this problem over the phone 4 times already with Verizon tech support .

There is a FAQ on this site that contains a step by step how to Bridge the Westell units. Were all steps done by tech support ? »Verizon Online DSL FAQ »How do I use a router with the Westell 6100?

Is your connection type DHCP in FL? If so, try cloning the Westell's MAC into the D-Link.

What are the first few numbers of that IP address the Di655 gets from Verizon?

What results do you get when you ping 216.109.112.135
and www.ubuntu.com ?
packets sent, packets received, and IP address that replies, if any.

Every packets is lost I don’t have a internet connection. I tried every settings, clone my pc mac, clone modem mac, default mac, it is not working. when I switch my modem bridge mode internet connections is gone.
So I think my modem is not working in bridge mode. This modem is something new. Maybe I need to wait on a new firmware.

Maybe.
Try connecting the computer directly to the bridged 6100 for a minute. (use a static 192.168.1.xx IP and 192.168.1.1 Gateway and 255.255.255.0 mask) access the 6100's GUI and check the Firewall Setting.
edit: Also, after setting things back up via the D-Link, then power everything down for a half a minute, fire up the 6100, wait till the DSL light is steady, fire up the D-Link, let it boot and fire up the Computer.

Hmm, hopefully you'll have better luck with a different unit.

Hey, did you figure it out I have the same modem and router and am having problems trying to set up my modem in bridge mode. I have tried the solutions on this forum and from a few other sites. None of them have worked. The router is able to get the dns servers and gets the ip address (only after cloning the modems mac) but the modem never says I have internet and I am unable to connect. I have a Verizon DHCP connection. (was set up as a routed bridge).

Any help would be great, as right now the double NAT thing is causing some grief.

Edit( I can get the modem to work with my laptop now, however when connecting the DIR-655, it doesn't seem to ever establish the connection (even using my pc's mac), setting it up statically with the info from my pc's connection also does not gain internet. Works fine though with my computer. The Router is running 1.2.1 firmware... I dont want to up grade unless this is known to solve the problem ( heard bad things about 1.3.1 and 1.3.2NA )

I had the same problem when I set up my DSL this week. When I switched the 6100G to bridge mode, I couldn't pull an IP with my router or computer. I called up Verizon, and was lucky to get a very competent tech to go through the steps. The steps are the exact same as on the FAQ, although he had me give him the MAC address of my router (I don't know if they're filtering or not), and he also saw the MAC address on his end, and put it into the system.

Something I've noticed, is that if I connect up the router to pull an IP address (with the modem in bridge mode) right after the modem was in DHCP mode, it wont work. If I give it a couple of minutes, and then connect up my router to pull the IP address (with the modem in bridge mode), it works fine. So, I don't know if something needs to clear on the Verizon end or what is going on with my router.

I have one of the new 6100G modems with the Verizon branded firmware & an Apple Timecapsule; I'm in CA (ex-GTE land).

After setting the 6100 to bridge mode, did you: power cycle then still have wait a few minutes; or not power cycle and have to wait a few minutes before connecting the router?

I ended up just turning the modem & router off for a while (I went and ate dinner in the mean time). I then turned the modem on, let it sync up, and then turned on the router, and it pulled an IP address.
