Re: starconnect down 9/1 ?
New info on Satnow page;
Wed Sept 23
Unfortunately it does not appear likely that a carrier on AMC6 will soon (if at all) be recovered. Subscribers can obtain alternate one way Internet service by contacting Skyfx at 888-697-5939 (their web site is »www.skyfx.us/ and their email is info@SKYfx.us. We are continuing to work on this conversion in cooperation with them to make it as easy as possible. Please let them know that you are a StarConnect/Brightstarinternet subscriber moving your service to them so that they will know how to be the most helpful.
Satnow dial up
The dial up service using @satnow.net may be discontinued at the end of the month (we are working with skyfx to continue this realm id); so, subscribers can also contact Skyfx about an alternate dial up dial up only as well as a combined satellite & dial up service.
We expect to be able to keep the satnow.net email system running at least for the immediate future so no subscriber email messages are lost. We do suggest that users of this system access it using »mail.satnow.net:32000 to set notification and forwarding options to go to a replacement email provider.
Resellers are referred to Tom William at Broadband in a Box; they offer a wholesale package similar to what StarConnect provided. He is familiar with the situation and with the conversion procedures needed.

We sincerely appreciate the business of all of the customers (both subscribers and resellers) of Internet Satellite Platform, Synergistic Communications and StarConnect over the past 10 years and regret the circumstances that have caused the current situation.
West Terre Haute, IN
Hate to see this happen to Sarnow, they always provided me with excellent service and tech support, rare to find that combination today. Satnow will be missed by lots of folks whom had to other choice for internet access.
AS it looks like they are down for the count, so the obvious question is how to insure no more payments are made?
Anyone have a good contact email or phone number to insure your account has been closed and no future authorized with drawls are made.
I am currently out of the country and would appreciate any info.
