SNET: They went beyond the call.

For over 100 years, Connecticut's main telco was SNET.

SNET was unique, it was NOT majority owned by ATT in the Bell System days.

Thus it was associated with the Bell System, but had a great deal of autonomy. It was a fine company.

After the chaos of the Bell System breakup 25 years ago, SNET eventually got scarfed up by SBC which later morphed into today's reborn ATT.

It's a shame those guys ever came into Connecticut.

Connecticut does not even make sense for ATT. Aside from CT's independent telcos, all the neighboring states are Verizon country.
