Gaming Notebook

What is up with all the glossy notebook screens? I have been researching gaming notebooks for the last 4 days and can't find a damn one with a matte screen? I don't know what kind of genius thought it would be a good idea to make the damn thing reflective, but evidently some people do like it or they wouldn't sell, right??

Does anyone have any leads on a notebook that is medium to high end for work and gaming that has a MATTE screen (not glossy reflective)?

I am really digging the Asus G-series right now, but they do not appear to come in a matte.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it is because of the glossy screen, but I have personally noticed that those with glossy screens appear to have much better color contrast than matte screens, and there's a lot more room to calibrate it appropriately.

I hate matte on laptops - even my home PC has a glossy screen. With the matte finish - things are a bit blurry that I don't want with gaming. But then - I would not consider a laptop for gaming either.

This is more of a personal preference. In a dark room with a laptop on, I can't really tell the difference.

A high gloss screen is supposed to look better, but some people don't like the reflection you get in the glossy areas.

Again - personal preference. I have a gloss and a matte laptop at home . . . neither seems to bother me and I don't really prefer one over the other.
