[netopia] Netopia 2247 - telnet problem

Hello,

as we all know web panel of Netopia is very poor, so I decided to check it under telnet. Telnet options for netopia surprised me pleasantly. Everything works fine, but one option is slightly irritating. I wanted to kick my friend from the net, just for a couple of minutes, so I go to:

reset dhcp client release

and here I have problem. What should I type here, I've tried with IP, MAC address and computer name. Still nothing. It says that there "no dhcp client active". Any solutions?

if it works like the other Netopias, the DHCP client is the WAN side, you need to do it on the DHCP SERVER side, and that likely wont even work as the computer will still just request it's ip back in under a second.

so how to kick somebody out from the network? Without filtrating MAC addresses?

why not disable dhcp temporarily? I dont think a reboot is necessary but not sure.
