| Belkin N+ wireless router security/connection issues
If I set the router up unsecured, I have no problem connecting my laptop.
The problem begins when I set any one of the security options (WEP or WPA). Once these options are set for the router, I cannot connect to the internet. My laptop gets stuck in a continual "acquiring network address" cycle.
I tried all three steps in the Belkin CD set up AND spent two hours on the phone with a technician, and still cannot get the problem fixed.
I am bout ready to return this thing...any advice? |

@virginmedia.com | What OS are you using? And what network card does the laptop have? (Have you looked at updating the network drivers on the laptop?) |

| reply to cbella420 Do you happen to have an alarm system in your house? The newer wireless alarm systems can wreak havoc on wireless routers, not to mention cordless phones of course. I worked on a setup where only WEP would work for encryption, not any flavor of WPA. Once the alarm was deactivated completely with all batteries removed it was fine. Weird. |
