| Spare a a prayer and a little good karma...
Tomorrow morning Anne goes in for her reconstructive surgery (she gets a new nose!). Anne, as usual, is remarkably relaxed about the whole thing...I think I may be more nervous than she is! Anyway, when 'ya have a spare moment, send a few good thoughts her way, okie-doke?
This is actually more involved than the cancer surgery itself was (go figure?), and they have to get some spare cartilidge from a rib, and some extra skin from her thigh. She'll be in the hospital until Thursday, then she will have me playing visiting nurse for a few extra days...by then, she will probably cancel the rest of the time that I took off, and beg me to go back to work

Thank you. Things really could not have gone much better than they have to this point in time. A year ago things did not sound all that good, and now here we are, with Anne cancer-free, and taking the next step towards getting her life more "back to normal".
From getting an awesome surgeon, to having a surprisingly decent experience with our insurance, to having about as good a result as we could have hoped for, we have been really blessed up to this point! In fact, Anne is going into this surgery far stronger and healthier than before. Yes, we are both still nervous, but we both feel very fortunate to be at this juncture.
I do not pretend to know what the prayers and thoughts of others do, not all things can be so easly measured, but I will say that I am ever so grateful for all those who have wished us well, and I deeply believe that those thoughts and prayers play a role in the greater scheme of things...my heart-felt thanks to all of you!

| Thank you everybody! Anne is in surgery now. It will last for several hours, and I am not allowed in the recovery room, so it will be ahwile and I'm back home for now.
This is the first, and biggest proceedure, with 2 or 3 to follow. I'll post a follow-up when I find out how well everything went (positive thinking!)
