Re: Changing ip and subnet of unlocked 5200 your link | admin profile IP |
Not sure it could be a browser issue, just for fun I have included a screen shot of what your link (»192.168.2.1/pfwizardj.cgi?code=E···retain=f) looks like in IE7
Unfortunately I don't see a way just to get to the page you want (via an address), the actual address never changes as one navigates through the script (included pic of that page). |

 | When i go to the pfwizard link, it ends up taking me directly to the index page immediately. It's as if pfwizard.cgi isn't on my 5200.
And as you said, I could change the ip and subnet of my router, but I need to also change my pc's ip to be in that subnet, and before I do that, i want to know how i can change the ip that the router grants admin access to, which is why i'm trying to run the pfwizard.
Thanks for the navlantern zip, but I already had all that from the original 5200 unlocking post. Thanks anyway though. |

 | Mine (navlantern) had a few add-ons, though nothing that will help. The wizard did work with a very outdated version of mosaic's Opera (ver 7.2 - some legacy tool which was included as part of the recovery program on an older system I keep - (it has a serial port)).
My 5242 died some time back & Bell kindly sent be the older version (5200 - e240) so I am not sure if you have the latest firmware or earlier version. You have me stumped as to why it doesnt work, you could try resetting it and attempt to unlock it again, however I recall issues that Bells most recent firmware breaking the unlock procedure.
Doctor Olds knows a great deal about these modems, and routinely posts in the Efficient Hardware forum: »Efficient he might have an answer. |

eh @mc.videotron.ca | From what I recall with the E242 and the 4200 (and I may be wrong), is that you have to roll back the firmware to an older one, then unlock it. Reconnecting will cause the firmware to be re-upgraded, so you may have to disable the 0/33 maintenance circuit or do something else to prevent it from upgrading.
Or I think there exists other telco firmwares that you can use and then you need only change the vpi/vci to 0/35
Many have done either of the above. But many posts get moderated/deleted when firmwares get tossed around. So it's something someone should/can PM you about like in previous cases for these two types of modems. |
