They aren't in a hurry to compete on price. im sure they like to pull that "we are the BMW of wireless" excuse for their prices. problem for AT&T is unlike cars there is another carrier willing to give me BMW quality at Kia prices.
one of reasons why they secured the iPhone exclusive, they have expensive service and know that right now they have the hottest selling smartphone for the past several years and you can only get it on their network(without jailbreak of course).
