rupst2 posted : Very satisfied with my cable. Less latency, more upload, very consistant pings. It was noticible while gaming for sure. I'm lucky..for now.

rupst2 posted : I agree. I tried that. They won't budge. Trust me, I'm pro-dsl, but it just doesn't make service/price sense to stay with it.

slappy white posted : Good luck. I would prefer to play Mediacom against CenturyTel and see if you can't get a current promo price from CTel and drop your price that way.
I am not a fan of jumping back and forth between providers. That's me though.

I'll give mediacom 6 months of saving me $150 and then decided to pay the same as dsl, switch back to dsl, or play the promotions game. :)

rupst2 posted : Ok, 2 months in on 10mb PURE dsl and its time to switch to the dreaded mediacomm.

Service activation, had to wait extra 2 days for dsl signal to actually be present at my location (gave 3 weeks advance notice)

Bill = $6.46 month in taxes and fees? Just because I have a dial tone, and technically a number, doesn't mean I want to pay for 911, deaf relay, taxes, etc. I had ATT dry dsl before. It was $35/mo, no taxes or fees. No dial tone.

So 10mb for 53.95/mo equals $60.41

Mediacom is giving me 12mb/1mb for $30 a month(yes I realize there is $3 in taxes on it as well). I love dsl but I'd be stupid to keep it at this point. Oh, and my dsl signal was out again yesterday. That's twice in two months. I had twice in 5 years with ATT. I have an 8' home run line directly to modem. No other wiring connected to the NID in my house. Pretty sad really. :(
