in fact I will also say that you should be able to jump onto a roaming network in most places. that is unless your really really remote. I have family that lives here - »maps.google.com/maps?q=42.70852,···929&z=16 - and I get 3 out of 4 bars on a roaming network. in fact, I don't lose service between there and Chicago.
