| Being able to buy a cable box What I am irritated about, and I know there is a lawsuit or two out there that have been mentioned is that you cannot buy a standalone cable box (w/o DVR). I have two TWC DVR boxes (1 SD/1 HD), and a couple of other TVs hooked up to standard cable. Why can't I buy a cable box for $50 or whatever it costs, plug in a cable card? I don't want to spend the money on a media PC, and I don't want to pay TiVO, either.
I think that is a significant reason why cable cards are not tht successful is either a) you have a TV that supports it, b) TiVO or other DVR, or c) a PC. Allow us to buy a cable box, and I'll be buy to start paying for cable cards. I just can't justify the exorbitant prices TWC charges for non-DVR boxes. |
