Port Forwarding w/ Motorola 2210 + Linksys WRT54G

Hi, I've been trying to forward a couple of ports (7777,2106) to run a private server for a game me and a friend of mine want to play, however, no matter what I try nothing seems to work for me.

I'm using AT&T DSL (if that matters) and the modem is a Motorola/Netopia 2210, the router is a Linksys WRT54G, getting them to work together was a pain in the neck as it is, but I managed to get it working by changing the modem from PPPoE to Bridged Ethernet, and enabling PPPoE for the router, internet works fine now, port forwarding however, not-so-much.

I use the router's port forwarding interface, and on the modem I have disabled the firewall completely. But when this friend of mine tries to connect, its a no go. Using PortForward.com's port scanner it tells me both the ports are open, however, using any sort of online port scanner it tells me they are closed, whats even more strange is that, if I have a port forwarded in the Linksys interface, if I scan it with an online scanner it immediately tells me the port is closed, however if I scan a random port that would normally be closed it would timeout.

This happens for every port except for 3306, MySQL, it tells me its open (which I intend it to be.) but why won't it tell me my other ports are opened.

Sorry about the mouthful, this has just become a huge frustrating mess.

Edit: I also think its semi-important to mention that I have a dynamic IP address

If you put the Motorola/Netopia 2210 into bridge mode and do the AT&T PPPoE authentication in your Linksys WRT54G you will not have to worry about cascaded NAT and/or forwarding ports in the Motorola/Netopia 2210.

Here is a screen shot showing how to put an SBC region Netopia 2210 into bridge mode:
