What have you found as far as your overclock goes? 3.5ghz is pretty common at stock voltage... |

1 edit | reply to jchambers28 1st, you should get a 120mm fan to help exhaust hot air out the back of your case.
2nd, you should start raising your multi to see where it starts becoming unstable. I believe HT is similiar to FSB, which is what your ram runs at. Post back with any results

If I had to guess I would say that the inside holes there are for 80mm fans and slightly further-out ones are for 92mm fans. Get a 92mm fan. |

| reply to jchambers28 MY Bios settings:
go to the 'T-Series' subheading in the BIOS: Overclock Naviagator = Manual CPU/HT = 213
CPU FID Custome P-Stats = Enable Core FID = 16.5X Core VID = 1.4v NB FID = 2000mhz
Voltage config = startup Chipset = 1.35v HT Overvoltage = 1.30v
DRAM Timing = Auto
This should give you a 3.5ghz overclock. I have C-n-Q enabled, which runs me at 850mhz at idle.
Good luck! |

|
Smoove910 Premium join:2005-08-01 Nampa, ID | reply to jchambers28 you shouldn't have a problem. What are your temps? If you are at/below 50c at full load, I wouldn't worry at all. It'll easily last the duration you will use that CPU, until your next upgrade. |

Prime 95 was kicked off late last night | system is not sluggish even with all cores going | cpu | bought this memory at the same time |
I was able to unlock the 4th core using my setup. Having problems booting with the memory at 1066. I checked gskill's forums and it seems to be a common issue. at 800 i can use 667 timings and pass memtest, but at 1066 with different settings memtest fails. i don't want to bump the voltages up so i might just run it at 800. |

1 edit | reply to jchambers28 1066mhz ram requires 2.1 volts. Are you running 2.1 volts, or are you sitting at 1.8 volts (typical for 800 mhz ram)?
Bump it to 2.1 volts. There's not many ram sticks that run below that voltage...
If you look at the specs for your ram, it specifically states '2.0 - 2.1v' (your label even validates the fact), so I would bet they are underpowered. »www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a···20231166 |

Sitting at 40c at 100% full load leads me to believe you can push it higher. Raise your multi again and see what happens. If you start seeing it becoming unstable, add a little more voltage. |

Be happy with 3.5, that's still a pretty decent clock speed. |
