| So..the "Review of the Internet traffic management 2008-19"?
What can be expected from the CRTC with regards to this proceeding? I can't find anything in the file regarding what is to come next, or if the proceeding is deemed closed.
Should we be expecting a final commentary from the CRTC? Some "Lessons Learned" document? Anything? Or was it just a collosal waste of time/effort/money? Is the file closed?
I would hope that the CRTC would provide some type of release or commentary, wouldn't you?

| The public hearings were a veil cover for a hearing on Bell's throttling of ISPs.
It is my uneducated and useless legal opinion that the CRTC will first decide (privately) on the R&V, then shape 2008-19 accordingly, announce the results with guidelines, and then announce the formal decision on the 2008-108 R&V stating using 2008-19 as justification for this decision.
For instance, say 2008-19 states that wholesalers can only throttle during instances of congestion, then the CRTC could then easily justify supporting the 2008-108 R&V stating that Bell should stop throttling 10 hours per day, whether there is congestion or not.
In other words, the results of 2008-19 will just be a support wall for the final decision on the R&V of 2008-108 to lean against. |
