Re: Changing ip and subnet of unlocked 5200 Mine (navlantern) had a few add-ons, though nothing that will help. The wizard did work with a very outdated version of mosaic's Opera (ver 7.2 - some legacy tool which was included as part of the recovery program on an older system I keep - (it has a serial port)).
My 5242 died some time back & Bell kindly sent be the older version (5200 - e240) so I am not sure if you have the latest firmware or earlier version. You have me stumped as to why it doesnt work, you could try resetting it and attempt to unlock it again, however I recall issues that Bells most recent firmware breaking the unlock procedure.
Doctor Olds knows a great deal about these modems, and routinely posts in the Efficient Hardware forum: »Efficient he might have an answer. |
eh @mc.videotron.ca | From what I recall with the E242 and the 4200 (and I may be wrong), is that you have to roll back the firmware to an older one, then unlock it. Reconnecting will cause the firmware to be re-upgraded, so you may have to disable the 0/33 maintenance circuit or do something else to prevent it from upgrading.
Or I think there exists other telco firmwares that you can use and then you need only change the vpi/vci to 0/35
Many have done either of the above. But many posts get moderated/deleted when firmwares get tossed around. So it's something someone should/can PM you about like in previous cases for these two types of modems. |
