My brother wants to re-use his FlowPoint 2200 dsl router, on his new broadband connection. My question is would he be able to use it, since our cable provider issues us a dhcp address. I didn't see the option to set the wan port to dhcp, seems like it only support static IPs.
Any advice.
I already told him to just use a linksys, but he's fixed on re-using this 2200.

The 2200 WAN port expects an ADSL signal. After Efficient Networks bought Flowpoint they created the 5880 for that purpose. I'll sell him mine if he wants one. |

Same end game for the OP. He can't use it behind the cable modem. |
