| WB + DynDNS - anyone using it?
hi,
i want to see if DynDNS will work on WB satellite service? i would like to be able to troubleshoot my parents system remotely as WB tech support is somewhat "challenging" for them to deal with.
has anyone else done this successfully?
TIA |

| WB is NAT'ed unless you pay for a static IP. I use LogMeIn to support 10+ computers on satellite connections. The free versions has some limitations but nothing I can't live without. Also remote access is extremely painful takes 5 to 10 times longer to do a simple task versus local or high speed remote access. Sometimes it is better just to view their screen and instruct them to use the mouse. |

1 edit | reply to crypton Paid for the static IP which we needed for some software we are testing. Seems to work little faster than LogMeIn.
Originally WildBlue wasn't NAT'ed and you only had to chase the dynamic IP now you have to pay for a static IP to remove the NAT. |
