daveinpoway posted : The SpeedStream 4200 should be set to output your public IP address (not a private IP address), in order to avoid double-NAT issues. Not knowing what configuration options your 4200 firmware provides, I can't tell you what steps to take to have the modem/router output a public IP address. You would be looking for a DMZ or IP Passthrough option in the configuration pages.

Doctor Olds posted : Who is your ISP?

The quickest way is to leave the 4200 as a Router (yes the 4200 is a DSL Modem and it is also a Single Port Router that only needs a 10-100 Multi-Port Switch to expand the available ports up to the supported 253 PCs it can handle) and set your new Router up using the Automatic/DHCP "connection type" instead of the PPPoE "connection type" since the 4200 is already handling the PPPoE.

[att=1][att=2]
--
What’s the point of owning a supercar if you can’t scare yourself stupid from time to time?
<TABLE WIDTH=95% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">
