AMD Phreak Premium join:2003-12-14 | And the word on the street in terms of it being deployed across a network? Any problems? |
|
IntraLink Premium,MVM join:2002-08-14 Utah Valley | reply to IntraLink I've had it for a while in beta and it seems to be just fine.
I didn't test all of the new features, just mostly concentrated on Preferred/Primary Color Code feature. |
|
AMD Phreak Premium join:2003-12-14 | reply to IntraLink Gotcha.
So you have not seen any adverse issues with the NAT or anything else in terms of stability? |
|
  IntraLink Premium,MVM join:2002-08-14 Utah Valley
| reply to IntraLink No, I haven't had any stability issues even from the first beta build I received.
I did notice them making suggested changes to design and usability as we progressed with the build.
So I think they have really gotten a much better hold on their quality regression testing to make sure they aren't breaking anything.
Ever since problems with 8.x the 9.x versions and upgrades have been MUCH better and more stable. |
|
AMD Phreak Premium join:2003-12-14 | reply to IntraLink That's impressive.
I will do the usual wait for everyone to deploy and then finally get around to doing it myself. I hate having problems. |
|
IntraLink Premium,MVM join:2002-08-14 Utah Valley | reply to IntraLink Yeah, that's always recommended.
The preferred color code feature was a total MUST for us and has solved lots of the problems with our redundant sector design. |
|
AMD Phreak Premium join:2003-12-14 | reply to IntraLink Yeah I was just looking into that and I can see how that would be nice. |

| reply to IntraLink Never mind here is a snippet I found quite interesting..
A 5.2-, 5.4-, or 5.7-GHz P10 or higher AP or BH with a Region Code set to United States and upgraded to Release 9.5 will no longer be configurable to another Region Code by installers or end users. 5.4-GHz radios with a United States Region Code will not transmit in the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) band of 5600 to 5650 MHz. |

| reply to IntraLink More interesting info
AP DHCP Relay/Option 82 AP acts as a DHCP relay for SMs and CPE underneath it. Color Code Priority on SM On the SM, multiple color codes (up to 10 per SM) and priorities (3) allow more control of which AP an SM will register to during normal and off-normal conditions. |

IntraLink Premium,MVM join:2002-08-14 Utah Valley | reply to IntraLink I think if your region code is set to Other, it won't change it automatically when you upgrade. |

| reply to IntraLink Sorry, was sick with the flu.
The redundant sector design we use is two or three AP's in the same band pointed in the same direction.
This way a customer can switch between two or three AP's on the same color code.
The problem was, sometimes the SM's would pile up on one AP.
So we asked for a preferred sector or color code option and they finally put that in 9.5.
Now we have seperate color codes and make our own decisions on what AP it should be on, but an SM can switch to a secondary color code if the preferred AP dissappears (non functional, we upgrade it, or DFS hits).
We set ours to look for the preferred AP after 5 minutes of switching and 5 minutes max on idle. |

| reply to IntraLink So you are using 3 APs with 3 antennas (or integrated) facing the same direction, 120 degrees apart? (total 9 APs)? And each set of three are on the same frequency with diff color codes?
No problems with this at all? That is really interesting. |

I am curious to hear about how there aren't problems as well. That is a very cool set-up.
