Probably a bare minimum needed for the tiny bits of data that comprise the e-books.

Though I don't care for GSM technology, making it "worldwide" is kind of an obvious next step, and they're going with what's available.

Don't think I'll ever buy one after reading about how they can remotely erase books...

I prefer paper. It is tactile, analog, and cannot be revoked without physical interaction
