[request] Ignore entire forumThere is a particular forum on this site the contents of which I do not care about in any way, shape, or form. But this forum seems to come up in the hot topics ticker more often than any other, with thread titles which don't clue me into the fact that it is this same forum yet again.
Now don't get me wrong, the forum is valuable to the members who use it, and obviously is very popular on the site. But I'd love to be able to put it on ignore and just never see it mentioned external to itself ever again.
No vitriol or hatred, just a suggestion.
Thanks for considering, Jim |

Re: Ignore entire forumSo, basically, an opposite to the 'Favorite' forums list. WoW (:D)... I was just thinking about something like that a week or so ago (after reading several other threads along the same line). Works for me. (Now, if the admins would simply add the name of a forum to the anchor as either a class or a new attribute, then you could easily hide/obscure the link with CSS... wouldn't take much.) |

Not that it matters to me in any way other than to appease my curiosity, but is it the WoW forum? (Since I don't play, sometimes I go into that forum just to laugh, as I read each post and I don't have a single clue as to what anyone is talking about.) |

How about the topic gets tagged with what forum it is coming from.
For example:
World Of Warcraft - Free Food next Sunday |

But seriously, your suggestion would be helpful too. I'd prefer to be able to ignore, but the addition of forum name would be nice as well. |

These were all listed at the same time: • 3.x Feral Druid - Bear Tanking Guide • Is Gear Score now the new requirement to get pug invite? • The (Insert Class) Tank and You For Beginners • What is the spell hit cap for a lvl 80 full arcane spec mage |

Then you would still be able to see that stuff. It wouldn't affect you one bit. |

I come to this site to read about internet/broadband related events..
All the other unrelated forms on here have made the "Forum topics by" and other features like the Ticker pretty much useless for me.
The ability to filter this site back down to what it was meant to be and not a free for all online soap opera about every subject known to man..
If I wanted that I would sign up for AOL |

I Enjoy the random threads that the ticker shows up, but i keep seeing threads like "Question about primal saronite" or "Tank/Hybrid DPS for Farming" and i, having no idea what these are decide to read them, and then realize its just WOW and go back out.
I would not mind being able to block them altogether, but would be just as happy with something like the "forum topics by..." box on the homepage 6. New boss's today!! [World of Warcraft]
(the bracketed forum name at the end) |

5 of the 10 emerging threads are about WOW and not a single one of the emerging threads have a thing to do about broadband/internet at all. |

In proper internet meme vernacular: Popular forum is popular.
Your complaints need to be broken down properly: 1. Ignoring an entire forum as if it didn't even exist is rather asinine, so discard that notion entirely. Simply choose not to visit it. 2. If you're upset about "most popular" features, don't use them. When they're censored they serve little purpose. 3. If you're wanting a more tailored "based on your post and reading history, you might be interested in..." toolset/feature-set, I *object* strongly as it would take a lot of resources to do something you can do on your own where as more important things take a back seat. |
