daveinpoway posted : I haven't used the Actiontec port-forwarding capability, but I have tried to set up OpenDNS on several Actiontec ADSL modem-router combos, and they all had the same problem- if power is removed from the combo and re-applied, OpenDNS would no longer work.

The OpenDNS issue appears to be a firmware bug common to a number of their products. The only resolution I have ever found is to set up the combo with the DMZ option and then use a separate router to handle OpenDNS. You may need to do the same thing.

anon posted : Ok let me try this board... I have a actiontec and it does not have a option to set up my xbox360... I got that port fwrd set up with help from another and I had to set up rules for my VOIP. But every time the power goes out the actiontec reboots and assigns ip address at random and so the port fwrding rules I have get mixed up and go to another product.... so my VOIP rules are now assined to a Ipod or something and VOIP will not work untill I remeber to go in and fix it. Now it puts the rules on a IP addy that is not on the list and dont know how to reset the modem to drop all the IPs to restart all the rules again because it says they are in use. I dont know how to make it so it remebers the product (voip) and put the rules to bypass the firewall
