I`m really, really tired of seeing this claim in every thread. I`ve addressed it before, but even people who know better keep repeating the same lies. If a business could raise prices `to cover extra costs`, that would mean before the fines they were leaving money on the table by not pricing their service at the highest price possible to maximize. Why would they do that? Why would they leave money on the table?
All carriers and businesses already price their products at the maximum that the markets will allow them to. Fines and such do *not* get passed on to the consumer, because if a carrier raises their prices they will lose customers. If they could somehow make more profits despite losing customers, they would have raised prices long ago. |
