[northeast] Using my own router with FIOS

I own a condo and Verizon did not install an ONT on the inside of my home. They ran a line from one of my phone jacks to the VDSL jack of a Westell 9100VM. I use CableCARDs for my FIOS TV service, so the Westell does not connect to the TV side at all.

I want to use my own D-Link DIR-655 router for my FIOS instead of the Westell 9100VM. What are my options since I don't have an ONT inside to run CAT5 cable to?

The router is connected to the VDSL modem by CAT5 already.
Just relase the DHCP IP in the Router and replace it with yours

There isn't a separate modem. The Westell 9100VM is the only box in my home. I think it has an internal modem in it.

Wrong. The VM variety of the Westell 9100 is for VDSL MDU installations.

This thread may be of help:

»Westell UltraLine Series 3 9100VM Bridging (Make modem only)
