| Can't ping because
Due to problems with signal dropping with my AT&T DSL pro here in Ohio, I tried to run your line test, but was told I couldn't ping, changed firewalls in Vista as you said, then got another program to test and was told that 192.168.5.1 is a reserved address and therefore not accessible.
Now what? I am a newbie here, so well may be doing someting wrong, if so, please let me know. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but didn't see anything else that seemed right place.
I have a Linksys WRT 54GL router and Westell F90-610025-06 modem (bridged). I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit. |

| Welcome to DSLReports. I'm going to move this to a more appropriate forum, but meanwhile:
• Make the router pingable (it should be a WAN setting and may be labeled something like "Respond to external ICMP requests" or similar.
• Enter your public or WAN IP address, not the IP of your PC. If you're not sure, click here: »/whois?java=1
Good luck with the line tests. |
