Re: Uncharted 2

I know for a fact that list isn't complete. There are even more PS3 games that run on 1080p than listed.

That run at 1080p is not the same as native 1080p.

When native, means that the game was meant to be displayed at 1080p. Which means that the textures, effects, etc were designed for 1080p. When it is said to run, simply means that you may "upscale" the game, but wont really notice any improvements.

My statement still stands. For example Wipeout HD is not on the list and it runs native 1080p. Just saying there may be a few more PS3 games that are 1080p that aren't on that list.

How do you know that Wipeout HD is 1080p native?

For one I own the game so I can confirm it (with no upscaling set). Technically Wipeout HD starts at native 1080p, but in order to keep the 60fps it will scale down in small increments. However that scaling never goes below 1280x1024, which is still a good deal better than 720p.

Sorry, not the same thing as native 1080p.. if it can't keep a constant 1920x1080, it's not native.

Does 56 vertical lines really make that much a difference to denounce native high def? Especially when it only happens in highly detailed and very fast sequences in the game? Sounds to me like nitpicking.

I'm not trying to split hairs, but either a game is 1920x1080 or it's not.

1080p, 720p Blah blah interlaced resolution lines blah blah blah flipp'edy doo dah blah blah blah.

The game rocks. The depth of field is far beyond any other game I've seen before. Ya'll keep arguing about resolutions - I'm going back to play some more.

Agreed. This game is great! If you have a PS3 and don't have this game yet, run..don't walk to your retailer and pick it up. I love the single player...and I love the multiplayer (a true first for me on PS3).

They really managed to capture the "feel" of watching a movie again. It's actually better like that this time.

The combat is clunky compared to something like Gears of War, but it still has that cinematic feel to it.

I'm really impressed.

Still GOTY for me is Infamous. I played that game three times in a row it was so good.. Dragon Age will probably replace it in my mind. I think for me this year the ratings will be:

1) Dragon Age
2) Infamous
3) Uncharted 2
4) Bioshock 2

Re: Uncharted 2

I really hope this game gets game of the year, the creators deserve it and everyone who worked in developing this game. I can't imagine how much better games are going to get

I'm wishing I hadn't traded my copy of Infamous in... my son really wanted Transformers 2 o.O

As for Uncharted 2, I'm on my second play through now. It was a lot of fun and there are many moments I want to "re-live".

Like that commercial (I haven't seen it but my wife keeps bringing it up) about the girlfriend watching her boyfriend play, my wife got hooked into this story. She wanted to sit there the entire time I played it!

I've been thinking of picking up a PS3 for this, GoW3, and Heavy Rain.

Do yourself and your ps3 a favor and go and pick this game up, you won't regret it...

Ditto.

I'm the first guy to be apprehensive about picking up a PS3 game with all the friends of mine picking up 360 games normally, but I took a chance on this one and don't regret it at all.
