Confusing Westell blocking

rtfm8 posted : I'm baffled by what's going on with my C90-610015-06 VER:03.02.01 Westell, on Verizontal.

It appears to be blocking me from some sites, but many things don't make sense.

a) I don't have the sites specified in the FW file, just ports.

b) In one case, dcacm.org; traffic to "dcacm.org" is not blocked; but that to "www.dcacm.org" is not. [The former has M$ errors, but that's their issue, not mine..]

That block applies to all machines on the LAN.

I get "Packet Blocked" messages in the firewall log on those... INCLUDING the working address.

c) Another address, www.tux.org, is blocked from SOME of the machines on the LAN but not others. The working machine has a static IP; the blocked ones DHCP. In that case the failing machine runs OSX, the working Linux.

All the addresses work as expected from other sites or if I SSH tunnel to outside.

I understand this whole mess so little; I've been looking for a large rabbit with a large watch, worried he's late....

Suggestions as to where to start?
