| Slow speed lately?
Has anyone been experiencing very slow speeds the past few days?
I'm getting 0.8mb/s on speedtest and online gaming is unplayable due to speeds.
I haven't touched any settings, and I've tried resetting my router + modem to no avail. I've also called Teksavvy, they mentioned they received an email from bell saying they are having some re-routing issues in the GTA area.
Just wondering if I am alone here. |

Hopefully Bell fixes whatever soon. |

| reply to satchmo I had some kifey speeds here today..... My seeding speed dropped to 8K/s from a normal self imposed limit of 40K/s I reset every bit in my network (after 30+ days of uptime... no power outages lately) and it was still poopy.
I chalked it up to bells incompetence and went about my day. |

1 edit | reply to satchmo They opened up a support ticket last week with bell. They got back to me and switched my line to a 6mbit line and some other tech detail I can't recall. The speed was much faster after that at the time I tested it which was around 3pm and I thought the issue was solved.
Now again for the last couple of days, the same problem re-occurred. Teksavvy opened up another ticket. My speeds have dropped again to about 0.8 to 1mbit which isn't to bad for surfing but unacceptable nonetheless. For gaming however, it is unplayable.
I'm getting a average ping of 276ms with a max of 325ms off the teksavvy.com server. A very very high latency. I'm also noticing a pattern. This speed/latency fluctuation seems to happen in the evening like clockwork. Hopefully something can be resolved as this has been going on for about 3 weeks. |

| reply to satchmo I'm with Teksavvy as well. A few months ago they were having issues where you could not connect with mlppp by using the windows option. They have since fixed that issue.
however after the fix was in place my speeds went from 525 kB/s down to 325 kB/s. Today I noticed that my speed tops out at 270 kB/s... I don't know what's going on but this is unacceptable. my speed has dropped by half. either because of traffic on the Teksavvy network or because Bell is doing something.
Since all DSL traffic is handled by bell I'm seeing my only other option as switching over to cable... and I hate that option as their caps are really low and their bandwidth fees are incredibly high.
I'm finding myself stuck in a corner here. There aren't enough truly independent competitors here in Canada to provide us with reasonably priced, reliable service options... |

I'm having the same problem for the past 3 weeks here in Mississauga as well, slow speed,200+ pings every night.99.99% sure it's the teksavvy server problem yet they wanted me to get a new modem to test my connection, had a good run with teksavvy for the past 2 years,I'm going back to rogers or bell. |

Identical results have been happening to me. Every night it gets progressively worse with 200+ pings and slower speeds. I've even tried a different modem. It's been happening for a solid 3 weeks now like clock work so I'm getting a bit fed up. During the day the speeds are fine but at night time (which is when I require the connection) it buggers up as if their bandwidth servers are maxed out.
I has been a good run but my patience is running thin after 3 weeks. I will give them a few more days to fix the problem as it should not take a month to resolve something like this. |
