ctgreybeard posted : Yes, nice to have it fixed. I haven't checked today (I'm away from home) but it is looking good.

I will say one thing, though, that I am very impressed by the level of service that I have received from multiple people, both on the phone and in person. I was NEVER rerun through trivial tests and trials, etc. that had already been done. I did have to make some configuration changes to eliminate my hardware but that's to be expected. And even though no one thought the modem was the problem they did provide a new one just in case.

My experience on this is that all of the people that I dealt with are true professionals.

Thank you.
--
Old dogs can learn new tricks!

ctgreybeard posted : It's beginning to look like this problem has been solved. They sent the ATM gurus today who said they "made a couple of changes" and I can see that the PPPoE connection hasn't dropped in quite a while.

What an ordeal.
--
Old dogs can learn new tricks!

ctgreybeard posted : For those that may be following along ... I've had two tech trips to the house. The line is "pristine" according to all their gear. We swapped routers, and the modem (brand new thanks to AT&T!) and now the modem is handling the PPPoE connection and it is still dropping with great regularity. They have escalated to the ATM gurus as it is now probably something in the build of the virtual circuit. The last tech even had them "rip and rebuild" at the redback as he said I was set up at 1500 when I should have been 3000. Download of 2500, upload 450 or so seems about right. I hoipe they get it figured out soon! :D
--
Old dogs can learn new tricks!
