Expanding into Canada would be a major undertaking. |

| reply to sher3238 MagicJack's been here for a while. Got mine in February. »themagicjack.ca/
Got the US#, Canadian # wasn't available. I see some arrangement has been made now, but just like any Canadian telecommunications product, it's supremely overpriced. Information is poor.
Use mine for outgoing LD calls only. Only my US friends that have the worse rates to Canada have been given the # to call in on. |

| I've been a Magic Jack Canada customer for about 4 months and it's been virtually useless. It works for outbound calls but there's a ton of clipping on it and sometimes it's so bad you miss every other word. As for Canadian number, the clown that runs it, Victor, has been promising a working number since the beginning and he's either incompetent, a liar or likely both. My experience, and two of my friends experience is that Magic Jack is a waste of money and bordering on Fraud. |

Yeah, Victor said the same thing to me back in February of 2008, but for me the service is worth it. It was pretty dodgy at first with all the software changes and glitches in the beginning, but things have been getting better as time goes on. I use my cell phone as my main contact number, but for everything else I use my magicJack line. Much cheaper than $55/month for a land line.
I'm sure Victor will still tell all of his potential Canadian customers that free Canadian numbers are on the way, "SOON". |

You Canadians are nice folks, but you really have to give it up thinking that MJ would come to Canada with Canadian DID numbers. The Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup before Magic Jack gets local numbers in Canada. They don't make any money on the phone service; they need eyeballs for their advertising client and there's not enough of them in Canada to justify the network infrastructure expense. |

RockyBB: The Toronto Maple Leafs will win two (2) consecutive Stanley Cups first before the real MJ will have Canadian phone #'s. (wish we had the emoticon here of it rolling on the floor killing itself laughing!) W-A-Y-Y-Y too much bureaucratic red tape, w-a-y-y too much palm grease required.
I use mine as outgoing calls only. Only our relatives in the US have our US #, as it would be a local call for them. Therefore, the MJ unit is only plugged in during anticipated times as scheduled. We put well under 1000 minutes/month on the device, but it still ends up saving us a lot of $$$. Can't complain about voice quality. |

+1 !
Used for calls to the US + calls I know will get a bit lengthy in Canada. Normally used once I start getting close to my "allotment" of 300 minutes of LD on my plan. |

| reply to sher3238 I live in Canada (Niagara Falls) what I like about Magic Jack is that not only does it work as promised I got to choose an area code so I chose Niagara Falls NY so it's not that expensive for someone in Canada to call me. Also if a Canadian has a post office (suite #) in the US and a US phone number they can technically get satellite tv like dish etc. into their Canadian Homes and screw the CRTC and their prices and regs...Love you Magic Jack.. |
