lorennerol posted : Network has two bridged ADSL 2+ circuits. Each circuit has eight non-contiguous bridged IP addresses.

Internal server and network needs one public IP shared via PAT by clients and a server (item 1). The server needs a consistent IP (it hosts email and there is a PTR record and and SPF record).

Some internal devices are in a separate network segment behind PAT and do not need a consistent public IP address (item 2).

Other network devices have dedicated public IP addresses (item 3).

What I'd like to be able to do is load balance the "item 2" devices between the two ADSL circuits.

Currently there is a network switch behind each DSL modem. WAN1 of a Z35 (in SUA mode) is attached to DSL1 and WAN2 is attached to DSL2. Item 1 above is on the LAN segment of the Z35. Item 2 above is on the DMZ segment. Item 3 (about ten devices) are split between the two network switches between the Z35 and the DSL modems. I'm using a policy route to keep the LAN segment behind a consistent IP.

I can setup load balancing on the Z35, but there is currently no way to account for the Item 3 devices, so I ran into overload conditions.

I'm wondering if I could move the Z35 up in the system and put it in bridge mode and do load balancing there, then add a Z5 where the Z35 currently is. It's a live system used 7x24 so I can't just setup gear and test.

Ideas?
