| Competition. WiMax, if nothing else, is serving to foster competition. I believe it's a significant reason why Verizon is pushing for (premature) LTE deployment. It's why T-Mobile is rolling out 21mbps HSPA+. WiMax can even compete with wireline home internet alternatives like DSL.
More options in the marketplace is always better.
