Roche1972 posted : My Premier contract began in February of 2008 so it should end in February of 2010. I only have FiOS TV Premier and I don't have FiOS phone or internet. Right now, I pay $52.99 a month for FiOS TV Premier (actually $84.06 a month when you add all my STBs plus taxes and fees). I thought I was under contract for 2 years at only $42.99 a month for Premier but Verizon had raised it $10.00 more in October. Currently, I hear that Extreme HD alone is $57.99 a month unless they had raised it higher too back in October. The Sports package is still $7.99 a month. In my opinion, I don't think that it's worth $5.00 more (for Extreme HD) or $7.99 more (for the Sports package) just to get one channel (although I would receive some more sports channels with the Sports package). Are you an Extreme HD customer, matcarl? If so then that explains why you have NBA TV SD.

Roche1972 posted : Well, I called Verizon today and the representative did do the "reload" but unfortunately the "You are not subscribed to" message still appeared on channel 89 (NBA TV SD). I clearly asked for a "reload" and that's what he said he had given my STBs. I requested another "reload" but unfortunately the same thing happened - no NBA TV SD. He placed me on hold and then came back and told me the following. He said that NBA TV SD is only available to Extreme HD or Sports package customers but NBA TV HD is available to Premier, Extreme HD or Sports package customers. I am a Premier customer. So I asked him about NHL Network (both the SD and HD channels) and he said that Premier, Extreme HD or Sports package customers should receive both the SD and HD versions of NHL Network. I told the guy that it doesn't make sense that the HD version of NBA TV is available to me but I would have to upgrade to either Extreme HD or the Sports package in order to receive the SD version of NBA TV and the guy agreed with me but there wasn't anything he could do about it. So I guess I will have to use my HD TV to watch NBA TV and be grateful that I have that. I still think it's unfair that Verizon had split the 2 versions of NBA TV into separate packages.

With the new quad plan discount I was still making out by 7$. After reading yours and Franks posts, I just went into myverizon and cancelled sports package and hope I still get those channels. I think it was 9.99, but Verizon actually lowered it to 5.99 to compete with Cablevision. You probably have to ask them to change it, they certainly wouldn't have done it automatically!

I've had fios for years now and everytime I've order or swapped a box the CSR has always told me that its $9.99. For at least 2 years every month I've been billed 9.99 per hd box. If it helps im in VHO7.

I'm also getting the NHL network. Odd that there was no message about it being available as a free preview.
