[Wireless] WRT54G v6.0 FW v1.0 as a repeater?

I have been reading some of the many post on how to setup
an extra router as a repeater to extend the range of my wireless signal. It seems to me that it is a very time consuming
process, requiring access to both routers via different PC's.

Is there a simple way to do this or am I in for a chore?
The distance between my PC and my host router is considerable, around 100' give or take. I was getting around (5 - 10Mbps) with very low signal strength. I was able to increase that to between 18 & 24Mbps after I added the
Super Cantenna 12dbi WiFi antenna to my PCI NIC. But still not enough to web cam @ 30fps Any ideas will be most welcome!

Config:

Host router = WRT54G v2.0 (Tomato firmware v1.25 @ max power output w/duel higain 7dbi antennas)

Internet = DSL @ 1500/512

Client router = WRT54G v6.0 (Linksys firmware v1.0)

TIA slo-motion!

No simple way and you'll need to install DD-WRT micro which is a task in itself on the version 5 & 6 of that router. »www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Li···_%26_6.0

I have darn neat the same setup and range issue.

Linksys WRT54G v2.2
Linksys WRT54G v6

I put DD-WRT on both routers, the v6 router can only take the micro version of DD-WRT, but it works just fine as a repeater. Just really no bells and whistles.

I guess I got lucky on my conversion. I made notes of all the MAC addresses, reset the router to factory default, then installed DD-WRT micro on it (wired, and using IE). It took FOREVER for it to install (compared to the v2.2 router). But it went on, and kept all the MAC addresses.

Then I used the following diagram to setup the 'repeater bridge'

It's been working since.

About the only issue I have, is the v6 router constantly re-boots itself for some unknown reason. I'm still trying to figure it out.

[Wireless] WRT54G v6.0 FW v1.0 as a repeater? (Problem Solved)!!

Problem solved! I found an awesome & extremely easy solution to my problem. Works so well that I felt that I must share.

While surfing my usual tech info sites I stumbled on a little program that creates a WiFi Hotspot out of any Windows 7 based wireless PC. The program is called "Connectify" and is a true WiFi Hotspot creator, not an (Ad-hoc PC to PC). Any PC using a compatible Wireless NIC can connect to this Hotspot. Takes less than 10 minutes to install and configure, and best of all it is FREE! I now have have maximum speed @54Mbps & excellent signal strength! Problem solved!

Check it out!

P.S. Take note that this program will not work on XP or Vista!
