Legally, they are required to give a 30 days early notice. |

| reply to andyb CRTC asked the ISP in the 2nd round of UBB, if they would rather have based on its end-users total aggregate usage averaged over its end-users. To me that seems that CRTC have decided to kill the geese already, but still trying working on the recipe to cook it.
They moved the Globalive Canadianess decision to the Friday afterwards probably to make room for these decisions. They would likely see yet another appeal to the cabinet if they declare against Globalive. At some point, hopefully the critters at the cabinet got to ask themselves if they are working for the CRTC or the other way around. |

| reply to andyb There is some logic in moving these two decisions up. They are two of the major issues facing wholesalers at the moment and having decisions handed down will enable wholesalers to adjust their business plans as required.
Hopefully they turn out for the best but I am expecting the worst. |

| reply to andyb said by andyb :Throttling and R&V decision in same week.I dont like that. The alternative would not be any nicer: one set of service plan reviews due to UBB now and another set of service plan reviews if the CRTC decides to change UBB rates due to throttling later.
Bell certainly does not deserve the sort of premium UBB rates it requested for crippled (throttled) service and AFAIK, no other ISP/carrier anywhere else in the world does UBB + throttling at the same time. |

1 edit | reply to AkFubar TSI has a history of putting customers first. I have no doubt that all their customers will get 30 days notice. Probably even at the expense of having to eat the cost of the 30 day notice period themselves. If indeed this UBB goes unchallenged which still isn't for sure at this point. -- "No matter where you go, there you are." - Buckaroo Banzai |

| reply to AkFubar I wouldn't be surprised if the CRTC rules against Bell for throttling but lets the UBB go through. Those old farts seem pretty incompetent for their jobs so it would be their idea of a fair and balanced decision. I'd almost be happier if it was delayed for a year aside from not having access to higher speed tiers it wouldn't bother me but I have MLPPP so throttling isn't an immediate problem for me. |

| reply to lester UBB decision is only only on the R&V "interm decision" and I think it will go through or they face a court challenge again. That will not look good for them and I would assume most want to keep thier jobs so they better get less bell friendly.Thats my hope anyway |

I reread it and I guess you are right as the letter s is missing. But it still looks like all three. Oh well it is the CRTC. |

1 edit | reply to justsomeguy The ISP I work for is raising rates $5 for dsl and on the letter that is going out to people says something like cause of the CRTC and the fact bandwidth costs are going up we're forced to raise our rates.
So seems my isp won't be passing the UBB cost to each individual customer based on how much they use. |
