| This is a tit for tat flame war and it is stupid. I have seen dozens of people insist that all caps is yelling. Netiquete sites say it. Other people have asked that poster to cease and desist. He spams other people's threads with XM hate even if it is OT.

Yeah, I need to get off my lazy butt and call them for the $77/year deal. I have 2 XM radios and 1 Sirius. So I'm paying full price on 2 of them. Makes no sense for the consumer (same programming but no 2nd radio discount) but all the sense for XM as they collect more money. Funny how that works in their favor.
Both have been going down hill with the addition of so many "DJs" and ads. They can choose to call them whatever they like but if they _advertise_ another of their stations, it's still an ad. Why do they need to pay money to a DJ? Are their customers who pay for the service that feel they need to listen to a DJ? 
XM needs to get bought out and someone who knows how to run a company needs to step in.

i called today to cancel. transferred over to the cancellation department. after a couple of questions back and forth, i was offered a promo rate of $24 for 5 months. needless to say i said yes.

Now, sit down and play nice.
Typing in all caps is considered "yelling" on message boards. Words in caps are meant to imply emphasis, ergo posting most of all of a message in caps is universally understood to correlate to yelling. Not to mention that it is just plain annoying to read, eye-wise.
Back to the topic at hand....
Switched off cars with my nephew because mine has XM and he needed to drive out to WV. It's been a while since I was just stuck with AM/FM (and his CD player doesn't handle MP3-CD audiobooks  ) and I have to say I have been really spoiled by XM. Even with losing some of my favorite stations with the merger, there's still always something on it worth listening to.

When you finally get to the cancellation department, took me 3 tries, you should get offered the $77/yr deal.
Although looking over the history, I really paid $77 today, for the rest of November till 11/1/10 which is a little over 11 months, it's most likely better to do this at the beginning of the month as they move your annual bill date back to the 1st of the month. Happy Turkey day! |
