Re: CoD: MW2 To Not Support Dedicated Servers Or Mods The chances of me buying this game to begin with were very slim. The fact that it will be priced at $60 for PC at release, and the fact that i'm getting tired of the Call of Duty series is the reason why.
However, this is the nail in the coffin.
I may download a pirated copy to play the singleplayer - But no way in hell i'm spending 60 bucks on something that will have crap multiplayer.
And yes, it WILL have crap multiplayer is they don't give the option of dedicated servers. The PC gaming community thrives off of the dedicated server community. When you go to play a multiplayer FPS you keep a favorite server, and you start playing with the regulars of said server.
Also, no 'mod' is going to be able to add dedicated server support. Proper ded. server support requires a specialized server binary among a vast array of other things. -- THIS IS SPENCER. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - I HAVE JOE. RETURNING TO BASE. |

For 60 bucks and the same MP support as in previous COD releases I would have bought it. The hours of enjoyment I would have gotten would have made up for the higher then normal price tag. The ONLY reason I buy the COD franchise is the MP support. I haven't played SP version of the game in the past 2, wasn't gonna for MW2.
Ah well, can only hope a new Elder Scrolls comes out next year. |

Not playing singleplayer in either of the games means you are missing out on quite a bit of the prior games value. -- THIS IS SPENCER. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - I HAVE JOE. RETURNING TO BASE. |

also, the SP of even the best CoD was mediocre at best. just google "call of duty single player infinite enemies". i love running through an entire map section without firing a shot because enemies disappear when you cross invisible checkpoints.
i enjoy CoD but its easily one of the most over-rated IPs of the last 10 years. theres just been no competition without a new counterstrike or equiv. -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r
