I registered for an account on the D-Link Forum, but I have not received an activation email, and it's been a couple of days already. It should be noted that your response above is almost the exact same line that D-Link and their shills used for months, blaming the problems with the DGL-4500 on configuration issues while all along they knew they had a problem with the firmware. Only after thousands of people started to complain did they finally admit there was a big problem.

And last...for this particular topic that belongs to the other thread. When you pose a question you must also include your configuration information. If you don't and you choose not to respond quickly to requests for additional information then you have no right to expect anything close to something that resembles a solution. I'm perfectly willing and able to help someone with a reasonable problem...facts and response time but I have no intention of mind melding with uncle Tom Dick or Harry to try and help them....they have to at least be willing to help themselves.

So, this is exactly how you wish to present yourself? Paranoid, irritable about any other's short sightings, and arbitrarily argue facts?

I do understand how you feel to a certain degree. I have dealt with it enough that I do not frequently post to the forums anymore. Many do not know how to communicate and having to decode does take some experience and skill that many are not willing to exercise. However, I think it would be better to refrain as I usually do if you cannot help the person. Good intentions can often be far worse and cause more complications than no help at all.

As for arbitrating the threads facts, well that is something that you are going to have to deal with. It is a fact that has been pointed out due to the actions that have taken place concerning the firmware and commentary of others. It is a simple fact that it is not really a good option when at least a good comparison is done. You made a good counter statement, but as with any product there should be knowledge and experience-not everything is a "toaster." And also, of course, caveat emptor.

The core logic refute is just a typical ad hominem. No need to proceed any further than that.

Your facts are inconclusive as with others. There is no control method for testing. The ISPgeeks ' test is inconclusive, e.g.. There was not any mention of the method(s), just datums thrown at the reader. I can easily replicate your findings by taxing the network and then executing the test.

Ignorance is just as countless as the threads that have been made. This is from the many in the forums not one person in particular. I think something needs to be said to contain this and point the effort in the correct direction.

The more I post the more you refute your own self in a horrible and disgusting manner. Accusing a forum member as if part of some conspiracy. As if I came here on April of 2003, like a Visitor, to create discontent with the firmware. That is just plain asinine.

Having extensive core logic knowledge is, what I would think, the major factor for implementing a good network.

I am unsure about what could actually be the problem with the DGL-4500 for some but I know one thing. When I asked a while back what the "issue" was there was no direct answer from anyone. Also reading much of the help around here is so far off at times that it makes me often wonder.

Like at Vizionblind's post: D-LINK DGL 4300. How do I get my router from STRICT to OPEN? Look at the answer you and MLGTWISTED provided and then compare how you two have had some of the most complicated problems with the DGL-4500. This is not the only post I have seen here like so.

I cant deny that there may be an issue with the router because it is probable-although me and my users are not experiencing this personally. But I wonder if it relative to the router or to the knowledge and implementation of the user.

I do think it is a valid point to make about the WNDR3700, because anyone with a bit of wit will find all the routers in about the same boat, and this one does not qualify as a sure win to me in a technical comparison. But there are some that really are very compatible with protocols and the Ubicom processor and ipOS combo have proven to me (at least) to be one of the best SOHO routers out there.

Sad lol

Well if you think about it they spent the first 5 months in total denial that a problem even existed. This company exists router to router...they create one piece of garbage, sell the hell out of it until the complaints start coming in, retire it (and all the warranty issues) and release the same garbage all over again with a few changes under a new product title.

If you sit down and calculate the time out it's been what about 3 years since the dgl-4500 was first announced...its life is over in technical terms. They've learned they can drag things out just long enough to exceed the warranty coverage and then the life cycle of the product. What they hope for is that the problems don't explode into something like this affecting thousands of people. So long as they don't have a disaster like this during the life cycle they still make money.

The sick part about this is that people still keep coming back for more despite the countless thousands of complaint posts about this company. Everywhere you look there are complaints about this dlink model or that dlink model and it almost always revolves around firmware. You would think people would start paying attention and stop buying the product.

Now your issues still exist. My question is have you followed the advice I posted in the other thread on this site and filed your BBB complaint? If not...why not? Get your money back and get yourself a product that works and is properly supported. They broke your router, they obviously can't fix it in a reasonable period of time and they are obligated to either REPLACE it or give your money back.

Spend 5 minutes tonight and file your complaint. When they respond to the complaint on or about Weds they will no doubt want you to wait and see if the new firmware fixes all your problems. We already know it won't, hell they even admitted it in their forums..therefore when they respond with this you immediately file a response that says NO..either replace the router or give you the money back...it's that simple...play hardball. You won't regret it.

If enough of you people will stop dillydallin around and file your complaints and demand closure they have no choice but to comply. The choice is make it right with you or you join the damaged class and thats when I can really help you.

Until you guys get up and do these things and hold D-Links nose to the fire I can't do a thing for you.
