[DSL] Net Zero Issues

This is the second time ive had NetZero for a ISP...Both times i had problems...When i plug my router in all 3 lights are green except for the internet which stays red...Wen it runs the setup it says no ethernet no ATM found.....Any one knows what this means...When i call support the give me the same thing to do over and over...Unplug the router and try again. They keep sayin and Advanced tech will get ahold of me but never does........

Welcome to the site, tc.

Let's get you moved to our General Questions forum as this forum is for DSLX users, another ISP.

We do have a NetZero forum but it's on the dead side right now.

»NetZero DSL

I think you might do better in GQ than that forum for some help.

Good luck.

Lets do simple trouble shooting. Unplug filter form the phone line and plug the phone directly in to the jack with no filter. Now turn on the phone, do you hear noise in background?

Also, make sure that dsl line is not filtered.

If you don't hear any background noise after taking off filter, it means that you have no dsl in your house. Call netzero and have them schedule phone company role.

Then why does the router pick up a Dsl signal?

I just thought you said the internet was red? No signal.
Do you have a POTS line for phone dial tone service? If so are you trying to get the dsl on it? This being a different ISP than you telco may be a stand alone DSL line.
Have you checked at your telco demarc on the side of your house to see if anything is marked? I am presuming this is a new connection?

I would bet the "Internet" light shows if the OP is Authenticated (PPPoE), There is probably a DSL light which is solid, which shows DSL Sync.

Based on the very limited info provided, I would bet it is a PPPoE issue.

your initial post said that you have no ATM. That tells me that your circuit is not provisioned from the dslam back toward NZs network. If you have a green dsl light then you have physical connection but without the ATM you can't travel past the DSLAM. You will have to find a way to work past initial support to get to the ones that can help you at NZ.
